Josh Kohane

Born and raised in New Jersey, Josh’s first performance was a stirring rendition of the Lion King for his mother’s camera at age 3. Since then, he has not been able to stop singing and dancing. 

Josh spent three seasons singing with the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus.  He sang solo roles in Tosca and The Magic Flute, and ensemble roles in numerous operas, including Carmen, Turandot, and Pagliacci.  After outgrowing the Children’s Chorus, Josh attended high school at Bergen County Academies, where he studied in the theatre academy.  From there, he went to Northwestern University, studying Theatre with a certificate in Musical Theatre.

After graduation, Josh stayed in Chicago for two years.  He had a number of incredible experiences working at the Marriot Theatre in Lincolnshire, Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Drury Lane Oakbrook, TimeLine Theatre Company, and Griffin Theatre Company. He appeared in Carousel at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, directed by Rob Ashford and starring Laura Osnes and Steven Pasquale. Josh was also part of the Pre-Broadway production of Beaches, the Musical, directed by Eric Schaeffer, and starring Shoshana Bean and Whitney Bashor.

Josh moved to New York City in the fall of 2016. Since then, he has been dancing and singing whenever he can get the chance, and working any number of day jobs.  Recent credits include She Loves Me at Capital Repertory, Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish and Markus in The Sorceress at the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene. Josh is represented by Dulcina Eisen Associates.
